Spamford is the nickname we've given our new online spam-eating offering. Read on and see what Spamford and myIT can do for your company. Once you get to know our Spamford, you'll want him in your inbox.

Q. Why the name "Spamford"?
A. Ironically, "Spamford" is the dubious nickname given to Sanford Wallace, widely regarded as the "King of Spam". There is a Wikipedia entry that explains more.

Q. Since Sanford Wallace claims he is the king of "Spam", how does this help me?
A. We have a sure-fire way of canning the king. Spam is best canned.

Q. How does it work?
A. After making the proper entries on the Internet, we activate the service internally here. Depending on your email server, there may be a slight configuration change if you want outbound mail scanned. No PC changes have to be made. Depending on the capabilities of your mail server, we might need a list of all the email addresses that your company uses (this would include nicknames/aliases, such as "webmaster"). If we host your email or manage an email server for you, we'll take care of everything.

Q. Why this instead of something else?
A. After searching for a long time and even building our own solution, this is the only one we've found that has a ZERO learning curve for everyone in your company. Turning it on today makes tomorrow so much easier. The system lets the user decide (at our frontline) whether or not to have suspicious items delivered, which means if they've been waiting for this email it's not going into black hole somewhere. The administration is distributed and customized by each user at their leisure. The system adapts to the needs of your organization as a whole, but also listens to specific needs from each individual without the need for a central person to orchestrate it. Spamford is smart and automated.

Q. How long does it take for it to get started?
A. We can activate it almost immediately.

Q. Do my users need to learn anything?
A. Not really. Each day, "Spamford" will send each user an email with anything in "quarantine". This is an HTML (web page) email and there is a colorful report that is almost too easy to read. This tells the user all they need to know.

Q. What is in the report?
A. It provides: Custom Instructions| Message Actions to deliver, whitelist or delete quarantined items| Quarantine Messages are sorted by Spam Score | User Report Preferences.

Q. How much does it cost? What needs to be installed?
A. There is a minimum charge of 25.00 per month per domain, up to 10 named accounts per domain. Each additional account is 2.00 per month. Nothing is installed on any of your PCs or your mail server.

Q. What happens when I can't wait for the next report?
A. Simply click any delivered report in your inbox and click any link at the very bottom. The system will ask you to sign-in. If you've never signed in before, click the "Forgot Password" link. Follow the instructions, then go to you inbox and get your password and login with your email address and the password sent to you. Once you have logged in, you can change your password to something a little easier to remember. Now just click the "Quarantine" link on the left menu to manage any held items.

Q. What can an individual user do once logged in?
A. Check and change their settings of course. Change your password. Change report frequency and content options. Create/Edit a blacklist/whitelist based on domains or individual email addresses. View or handle your current email quarantine. Read online help.

If a user is not comfortable with any operational aspect, call, email or fill out an online help request with us for support, it's included with the service. Got Spam? Get myIT (and can the spam).

It's probably proper to put a disclaimer here that when we talk about Spam we're only referencing the email kind. The other Spam is a registered trademark of the Hormel corporation, and we don't want to have anyone confusing email Spam with the Hormel luncheon meat called SPAM.
